How I got started…

I have been welding since 2019. I was in High School and a cadet in the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps at Camp Parks in Dublin CA. I was part of a Vehicle Maintenance program that restores old military vehicles for local military parades and ceremonies.

I became one of the mentors of the program and taught other cadets to perform basic MIG welding techniques. We restored a number of vehicles, including complete frame-off restorations, engine, drive train, brakes, body and paint.

Welding School & Experience

After graduating High School, I attended Cal-Trade Welding School in Modesto CA and completed a comprehensive welding program with over 500 hours of instruction that included: Stick (SMAW) Welding, MIG Welding, TIG Welding, Fluxed Core Arc Welding, and Symbols & Blueprint reading. Additional instruction time included 6G 4" and 6" Pipe Welding.

  • Utilized E-6010, E-7018, E-7024, E-308, E-309L, ER4043 & 232 rod and electrodes. Welded structural steel in the following positions: 1F, 2F, 3F, 4F, 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G.

  • Welded plate and structural steel in accordance with AWS D1.1.

  • Hand Grinders, Pedestal Grinders, Hand and Power Tools.

  • Welded 4" and 6" Pipe in 6G position in accordance with AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Code.

  • Prepared and Cut Metals using: Air Carbon Arc Gouging, Oxy Acetylene Beveling Machines, Oxyfuel-Hand Torches, and Plasma Arc.

  • Proficient in the following: Welding procedures: FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding - MIG), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding - TIG), and SMAW (Shielded Arc Welding - Stick)

  • Succesfully competed combination welding course in Heliarc, MIG, Innershield and Stick welding.

  • Successfully completed welding course in symbols and blueprint reading for welders and fitters.

For the past few years, I have been a full-time professional welder working for one of the top innovative companies in electric vehicles and renewable energy.
